This mission will be served by providing the school’s students with an individualized and self-paced program set in a flexible scheduling environment that is responsive to its students’ needs, and by providing an education experience that leads to a high school diploma (not a GED) and post-secondary success. River Gate High School will provide a comprehensive, positive educational experience that will impart to each student the knowledge, desire and confidence needed to succeed in reaching his/her goals. The School will strive to motivate, teach, and guide each student through his/her educational growth and development. This will be accomplished by emphasizing the development of both cognitive and social skills. River Gate High School offers a safe, secure, clean environment, and researched field-tested educational programs which have proven very successful in educating at-risk students. The program provides the opportunity for parent involvement and community engagement.

We are incredibly excited to announce that River Gate High School is officially accredited by Cognia—the largest community of education professionals in the world! On February 21, 2017, Cognia announced that River Gate has joined its list of more than 32,000 institutions across the U.S. and around the world that it rigorously evaluated and now recognizes as providing a quality education.
Accreditation is an achievement that offers assurance that a River Gate High School education is sound and nationally recognized. River Gate High School’s new accreditation status provides all students graduating from River Gate High School a fully accredited high school diploma, and every student will benefit through assurance of:

Cognia is the national commission that confers the accreditation seal and is nationally and internationally recognized as an authority in education, and is a non-profit, non-partisan organization that conducts rigorous, on-site external reviews of Pre-K-12 schools and school systems to ensure that all learners realize their full potential. Cognia has awarded only ONE corporation accreditation in Ohio—to Cambridge Education Group—making an education at one of its schools—like River Gate High School—all the more unique.
River Gate High accreditation status lasts for a five-year term with regular monitoring of progress and reporting on the system-wide high quality standards, continuous improvement, and quality assurance mandated by accreditation. After five years, the accreditation will be renewed.
