River Gate High School

River Gate High is a high school serving students who would be traditionally enrolled in grades 9-12, aged 15-21.

These students may have fallen behind in earning credits, have difficulty passing state required tests, are at risk of dropping out of school, or just need a new environment in which they can succeed.

River Gate High students do not enroll in a specific grade level but rather in the “River Gate High School.”

We target the population of students whose educational needs have not been met at any meaningful level.

River Gate High is an alternative for the non-traditional student. The River Gate High model catches the students that are falling through the cracks and empowers the community with more contributing adult citizens.

We are incredibly excited to announce that River Gate High School is officially accredited by AdvancED—the largest community of education professionals in the world! On February 21, 2017, AdvancED announced that Cambridge joined its list of more than 32,000 institutions across the U.S. and around the world that it rigorously evaluated and now recognizes as providing a quality education.

Accreditation is an achievement that offers assurance that a River Gate High School education is sound and nationally recognized. River Gate High School’s new accreditation status provides all students graduating from River Gate High School a fully accredited high school diploma, and every student will benefit through assurance of:

  • QUALIFIED TEACHERS who are continually improving their teaching methods

  • EVEN GREATER FOCUS on student learning

  • BETTER TRANSITIONS from grade to grade

  • CURRICULUM that is rigorous, diverse, sound, and based on strict quality standards

  • A BROAD SELECTION of student activities and support services

  • SMOOTHER TRANSFER of credits from school to school

  • ELIGIBILITY for special programs, grants, and scholarships

AdvancED is the national commission that confers the accreditation seal and is nationally and internationally recognized as an authority in education, and is a non-profit, non-partisan organization that conducts rigorous, on-site external reviews of Pre-K-12 schools and school systems to ensure that all learners realize their full potential.

We are very proud of our school’s accomplishments that contributed to achieving accreditation. And this could not have happened without you and your continuous support.
